It’s February. Are you keeping to your resolutions? Did you even make any? I’m not a fan of resolutions or I should say I don’t like making them in January. There’s something about the new year that puts too much pressure on you to succeed. My favorite month for new goals is September. One thing I did promise I’d do is read more non-fiction books, not just financial ones, although I have a large to read pile on the topic of money. My goal is to read anything that’s useful in saving money. Quick and easy things you can do to help stretch the budget. Here’s a book I recently stumbled upon so I thought I’d share with you. It’s called Who Knew? 10,001 Household Solutions by Bruce and Jeanne Lubin. You’re probably asking how can this save you money? Have you ever had something break in your house or something like a door that sticks? It’s annoying, you’d love to call someone in to fix it but it’s not in your budget? This book offers you simple solutions you can do yourself and some of them use stuff you already have sitting around your home like duct tape and rubber bands. One section I especially enjoyed reading was the Chef’s Secrets…did you know on average we throw away $2,200 in food each year? Just think what you could do if you invested that in something that brings in passive income. Who Knew is full of great advice about keeping food fresh longer, ingredients you can swap and yes, no more running to the store to buy one ingredient and coming out with a lot more stuff. It even has chapters on natural remedies, homemade cleaning products, vacations, and gift giving. This is going to be a very useful reference book that I know I’ll refer to over and over again. If you want to check it out here’s a link to it on Amazon, and yes, I’m an Amazon Associate and will be compensated but at no extra cost to you. Do you already have a copy of this book and if so, what did you think of it? Until next time, take care and happy savings. Susan |

Foods that are maybe not the most attractive or maybe the company bought way too many and Imperfect Foods offers them at a discount to you. The thing I like best is if once you sign up you're under no obligation whatsoever to buy that week's box of goodies. Some weeks the budget's tight and I've...
